Have you heard of Siri Shortcuts? If not, you have missed a lot. Shortcuts is a new feature in iOS as a replacement of the Workflow app for automation. The standalone Shortcuts app can do many things including downloading music free.

Here in this article, I will show you 5 great shortcuts and each one can help you download free music on your iOS device.

You probably know YouTube Downloader shortcut to download music videos and save the audio file only. You can use the Files app to listen to these songs offline, but it still sucks because you can only pick one song to play at a time. It will be great if you can make a playlist of the downloaded songs and play it.

Don’t worry. I get you covered. I will show you how to do that as a bonus at the end of this article, so stay with me.

Shortcut # 1: Deezer Downloader

Have you heard Deezer a music streaming service provider? If not, it is totally ok because there is no need to get the application or create an account in order to download music from Deezer.

Open the Shortcuts app, and run this shortcut. Then type the song name that you want to download. It will return several results, just select the one you want to download. Then it asks if you want to convert the audio format.

After that, you can select a location to save this music file. You can pick a location in a cloud drive that is connected to the Files app.

If you don’t want to get prompted to specify the location path every time, just toggle off the option on the Save File action and grant access to the destination path.

Of course, if you do use Deezer, you can copy the song link from a web browser and run this shortcut to free download music. You can select the original format so it will be quicker.

If you have the Deezer app, you can also run this shortcuts you can also run it from the share sheet.

Shortcut # 2 SoundCloud Downloader

You probably have heard SoundCloud. This shortcut simply allows you to download songs from SoundCloud without a Paid Go account.

As the Deezer Music Downloader, you can copy the song link from a browser or tap the share button from the app to run this shortcut.

Shortcut # 3 YouTube Downloader

There are many youtube downloader shortcut but most of them cannot download music videos. So I think it is necessary to include a working YouTube music downloader here.

The 1080P video does not have sound. Some 720P videos do not have sound either. I have also included them in the shortcut. It is your choice to select the video quality to download.

Shortcut # 4 YouTube Playlist Downloader

You may have collected a few playlists on YouTube. It is really inconvenient to download songs one by one. In that case, you need to get this shortcut.

I think you probably don’t want to be prompted after downloading one song, so I have minimized the options, which means you will not be able to select video quality. The shortcut by default will pick the highest video quality with sound and save videos to Camera Roll. You can change the default location to Dropbox or iCloud.

This shortcut will automatically check if there is already a downloaded one in Camera Roll. If it find a match, it will automatically neglect this one and download the next one.

If you intend to download the audio only, there is another shortcut. If needed, you can change the audio format between M4A or AIFF. If you are using Workflow app, you can also select the MP3 option. Then, you can specify a destination path to save the music file.

Shortcut # 5 MixCloud Downloader

I made this one recently. I saw someone ask for this. Probably not many people use MixCloud. I will simply share this for you.

Just change the default location to pick songs from Cloud Drive(iCloud or Dropbox). Then run this workflow. You can play songs in a random order or play the top one first. Certainly, this is not as good as any music player, but it will do the job.

5 Ways to Fix Windows 10 Failed to Create Recovery Disk [2018 Tested]

When you failed to create Windows 10 recovery disk, the best solution is to download the recovery drive ISO and burn it to your USB drive or CD. Since Microsoft official site does not provide such a thing for downloading, I have created it my own.

Free feel to download it and use. Let me know if it does not work.

If your system disk is GPT, download this recovery disk ISO UEFI.

If your system disk is MBR, Download this Recovery disk ISO for Legacy.

If you only want the WinRe file, I have also uploaded it to Google Drive and share it with you.

Download Recovery Disk Windows 10Of course, you may not want to download and use something that’s from an unofficial site. I completely understand. That’s why I will show you what to do when you get the error “We can’t create the recovery drive”.

Check your USB drive

If your Windows 10 is unable to create a recovery drive, the first thing you should check is whether your USB drive is well connected and can be recognized by Windows.

If you USB drive is not formatted as FAT32, format it as NTFS. If you use Disk Management or DiskPart to delete the drive, it would be even better.

Enable Windows Recovery Environment

If you are certain the USB drive is not the problem, then the most likely cause to this problem is that Windows recovery environment is disabled. You can run command “reagentc /info” in an alleviated command prompt to check it.

With Windows RE disabled, you cannot even boot into recovery environment. To reenable it, just type “reagentc /enable”.

Get WinRE file

If this also fails, it means the Recovery environment is missing or corrupted. You can try the steps below to export WinRE file from installation file.

Step 1. Create a Recovery folder under the root directory of C: drive if it is not already there. Then create a folder named WindowsRE under the Recovery folder. The recovery folder is hidden by default. You can search “show hidden files” from the search box to open File Explorer Options. From there, check the option Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and uncheck the option Hide protected operating system files(Recommended).

Step 2. Within this step to step4, you will create a Winre.win file. If you have that file backed up, you can just skip to step 5. Open the installation ISO. If you do not have one, you can download it from Microsoft. In Windows 10, you can double click to mount it as a virtual dirve.

Step 3. In the Source folder, locate the file Install.wim. Copy the Install.wim file’s location path.

Step 4. In an elevated command prompt, type the following:

dism /mount-wim /wimfile:[the install.wim file path you just copied] /index:2 /mountdir:[a location path to save the mounted file]

so the command should be like this: dism /mount-wim /wimfile:”F:\windows 10 ISO\sources\install.wim” /index:2 /mountdir:D:\mount_image_file\

Step 5. From the location you entered at the end of the command, find the Winre.wim file and copy it to C:\Recovery\WindowsRe.

Step 6. Then type command “Reagentc /setreimage /path C:\Recovery\WindowsRE”(without quotes)

Step 7. Type “Reagentc /enable” and press Enter.

After that, you should be able to create recovery drive in Windows 10 successfully.

Only fails when including system files

If you can create a recovery drive without including system files, but when you check the option Back up system files to the recovery drive, it is still unable to create recovery disk, then try the following.

  1. Copy the install.wim file from the Windows 10 installation file to a folder on your hard drive. Say it D:\Windows-OS-image.

2.Open an elevated command prompt, and type: Reagentc /setosimage /path D:\Windows-OS-image /index 1

After that, you should be able to include the system files in the recovery drive, so you can use the recovery drive to reset Windows 10 without requiring anything on your hard drive.

As you see, it may take many steps to fix this problem when you cannot create a recovery disk in Windows 10. If you are determined, you surely can fix it as I have. Also, fell free to download the recovery drive ISO if needed.

Step 3. Open your web browser and go to developer.spotify.com to enable Developer access.

3 Free Ways to Send Personalized Mass Emails – Mail Merge

If you run an online business, you probably want to send out personalized mass emails. Sometimes, you may only need to send the same email to multiple recipients separately without showing all the email addresses.

In this article, I will show you 3 ways to send massive personalized emails via mail merge. You can do email merge with Gmail, Outlook, or Word. If you prefer using iPhone, then I also get you covered by showing how to do mail merge on iPhone.

If you only want to discreetly send out an email to multiple recipients

No matter what email client including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com webmail and others you use, you can simply place all of your recipients’ email addresses in the BCC: field. And separate the email addresses with semi-colons.

When the recipients open your email, they will see your email address in the “From:” field without seeing other recipients’ emails. And they will see their own email in the “To:” field.

Method 1: mail merge with Gmail

If you want to send personalized email to multiple recipients, then you need to configure Email Merge.  Mail merge allows you to separately send a custom message including the recipients’ name and other unique details to many recipients.

If you prefer using Google Spreadsheet and Gmail, then this method is for you. You can follow the steps below to set it up.  It’s useful for sending out personalized emails to multiple people quickly. Technology blog Digital Inspiration offers up a Gmail tip to get this done, using Gmail with Google Docs.

Step 1. Prepare your list of recipients and other information in a Google Sheet. Install the Mail Merge with Attachments add-on.

Step 2. Click the Mail Merge add-on and select Create Merge Template. Then copy your list to the blank mail merge template in your Google Spreadsheet. You can edit the mandatory columns and add new columns if needed. 

Step 3. You can add unique attachments the File Attachments column for your recipients. To do that, just go to Google Drive and copy the file URL and paste into the sheet. 

Step 4. In the Mail Merge sheet, select Configure Mail Merge and click Continue to go to the Create Email Template.

Step 5. As you see from the screenshot, you can use a visual editor, Gmail Draft, or your own HTML. It is recommended to craft a Gmail draft.

Step 6. Go to Gmail and start to write a new email. You can include one or more variable fields in the email message using the {{field name}} notation and these will be replaced with the actual values from the sheet when the emails are sent.

Step 7. Go to the Mail Merge sheet and select the Gmail Draft and send test email if needed, After you check the test email, then you can send out all these emails.

This free version of this add-on allows email up to 50 recipients a day. If you upgrade to the premium version, then you send emails to 300 recipients.

Method 2: Mail Merge with Outlook, Word, and Excel

As you know, Gmail has limitations of email sending quota. If you need to send more emails, you can use Outlook.

Step 1. Prepare the email list in an Excel file. Save the email list file as.CSV format.

Step 2. Open a new Word document. On the Mailings tab, in the Start Mail Merge group, choose Start Mail Merge > E-mail Messages.

Step 3. Click Select Recipients > Use an Existing List. You can also import the excel list to Outlook and choose from Outlook contacts.

Step 4. Edit the recipients if needed.

Step 5. Craft the email and add personalized content to the email message. In the Write & Insert fields, select Greeting line and Insert Merge Field to insert custom content.

Step 6. Click Preview Results to check preview some of the emails from them and then click Finish &Merge > Send Email Messages.

Method 3: mail merge on iPhone

Sometimes, you may not get a computer around you, and all you have is an iPhone or iPad. In that case, you can use your iOS device to run a mail merge.

Step 1. Download Workflow app from AppStore. Workflow is a free app that obtained by Apple not long ago.

Step 2. Get this Mail Merge workflow.

Step 3. Run this workflow and follow the instruction to perform Mail Merge on your iPhone.
