Previously, I have shown you a few methods to download free music from Deezer, Spotify, or SoundCloud. In this post, I will be showing you a few methods to transfer music from PC to iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

If you prefer using iTunes to collect your music, iTunes is obviously the best choice. If you are not familiar with iTunes, you may prefer other choices. That’s why I come up with 5 different tools for you to add music to your iOS device from your computer.

Method 1: Sync Music with iTunes

iTunes can be a little complicated to use for some, but if you know it better, you will find it very powerful. You can sync your entire iTunes library to iPhone in one go. You can also choose some of the tracks of your collection to add to your iPhone.

You can refer to the process to learn how to transfer songs from pc to iPhone by using iTunes.

Step 1. First, you need to download, install and run the latest version of iTunes on your computer if you haven’t. Then connect your iOS device to your PC via USB cable.

Step 2. If you don’t have any music added to your iTunes library, you can click “File” and select the “Add File to Library” option to add your songs to your iTunes library first. You can press Ctrl+A to choose all items from an entire folder after a new window of iTunes pops up.

Step 3. Make sure you allow iTunes to access your iPhone music library and then you can easily add music to your iPhone from iTunes. Select your iPhone device icon at the top left corner of iTunes and then tap on the “Music” tab on the left side.

Step 4. Enable the “Sync Music” option. This will sync selected music files, albums, genres, or playlists on your iPhone. After that, click the “Apply” button to start the sync.

If you do this for the first time or your iPhone has synced with another iTunes Library, you will get a warning that all existing music will be erased on your iPhone. If you don’t want to lose all the existing music library on your iPhone, you may want to check other options.

Method 2: Sync Music to iPhone with AnyTrans

You can transfer music to iPhone without removing anything on your iPhone. To do that, you will need AnyTrans, iPhone manager software that provides an easy and fast file transfer experience between iPhone and PC.

Step 1. Download and install this program on your PC or Mac. Connect your iOS device via a lightning cable.

Step 2. Once AnyTrans recognizes your iPhone, you can click on Media Library and select Music.

Step 3. Now you can simply drag and drop to transfer music from PC to your iPhone or iPad. Of course, you can select multiple songs at a time.

What’s amazing about AnyTrans is that you can transfer all data to a new phone in one go, which is really helpful when you switch to a new phone. You can even transfer all data from an Android phone to iPhone. It has many other features to help you better manage your iOS device, such as duplicate photos remover, iCloud photo manager, video downloader, etc.

Method 3: Transfer music over Wi-Fi Transfer

If you don’t have a lightning cable, the Wi-Fi transfer option is great. To do that, you just need to download a free application called Documents by Readle for accessing network shared folder. Make sure both your iPhone and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and you can follow the steps below to transfer music to iPhone from PC.

Step 1. Open Documents on your iPhone

Step 2. Tap Services and select Connect to Computer.

Step 3. On your computer, open a browser and go to docstransfer.com. Enter the code you see on your iOS device.

Step 4. You can now transfer music files between PC and iPhone. Select one or more files or folders and click Upload to transfer them from the PC to your iPhone.

Besides music, you can upload photos, videos, documents, or archives with this Documents app. You can use the Documents app to play all the music added to iPhone, but you cannot add them to the Music app.

Method 4: Transfer music through Cloud Drive

If you don’t need to add the music to the Music app on iPhone, you can also transfer music to iPhone through cloud drive. You can download the iCloud for Windows desktop app and add the music to the iCloud folder.

Once the music is sync to iCloud, you can open the Files app and save the music offline on your iPhone. You can also use other cloud drives like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or any others. You just need to connect the cloud drive to the Files app.

Method 5: Add music to iPhone via Apple Music

If you have an Apple Music subscription, you can easily add music to your iPhone Music library wirelessly. Once you have Apple Music, you can turn on iCloud Music Library both on your iPhone and iTunes from PC. Once you add some music files to iTunes,  your music will be synced between iPhone and PC always.

Step 1. To turn on iCloud Music Library on iPhone, go to Settings >Music > iCloud Music Libray.

Step 2. To turn on iCloud Music Library on PC, you need to install iTunes and sign in with your Apple ID. Then click Edit > Preferences > General, and check the option iCloud Music Library.

Step 3. Select the music in your iTunes library, right-click and select Add to iCloud Music Library.

When your iPhone has an internet connection, you can open the Music app to find the music you just added to the library. It’s a good idea to make it available offline not to spend your Internet traffic all the time.

There is also an easier way to do this. After installing iTunes, it will create a folder called Automatically Add to iTunes. Once you add a file to this folder, it will automatically add to iTunes Library and sync to your iCloud Music Library.

If you are using Windows, the folder should be in “C:\Users\yourname\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes”.

Conclusion

I hope you find these 5 ways of transferring music to iPhone useful. When you just want to transfer one song or two, iTunes is not that convenient. That’s why I also use other methods to transfer music without iTunes.

Now, it is your turn. Which method do you like the most? If you have a better idea or any questions, leave them in the comments section.
