In this blog post, I will show you how to download songs from Spotify on your iPhone in a few simple steps. Generally, you will need a Spotify Premium subscription to do this, as downloading songs is not available for free users.

If Spotify Premium is not available in your country, you can use other methods to download Spotify to MP3 on your iPhone or iPad. If you also have an Android device, you may want to check Spotify downloaders for Android.

You can make jobs on your iPhone easier by automating them with iOS Shortcuts. Downloading music from Spotify on iPhone is one of many things that Shortcuts can do. I have made a Spotify to MP3 shortcut, and here is how to use it. 

Step 1. Tap on this link to get the Spotify to MP3 shortcut

Step 2. Open Spotify and tap the Share button of the song that you want to download. 

Step 3. From the share sheet, select the “Spotify to MP3” shortcut. 

Step 4. The shortcut will open the Files app and allow you to pick a location to save the downloaded music file.

Step 5. When complete, it saves Spotify songs to Files on iPhone. You can open Files app to locate the download songs.  

If you don’t want to be prompted to select a location, you can open the shortcut and toggle off the option “Ask Where” in the Save File action. You can also copy the URL to a Spotify track and run this shortcut to download it. 

This shortcut also works on Mac if you are running macOS 12 or newer versions. However, it will download the music at 128 kbps. If you want to download Spotify in higher quality, you can check out our premium shortcuts

Use Online Spotify Downloader on iPhone

SpotifyMate is a free online tool that lets you convert and download Spotify songs and playlists as MP3 files. To use an online Spotify downloader on an iPhone, you should use Safari and make sure your iPhone is running iOS 13 or later. Otherwise, you need a little trick to download files on your iPhone

Here’s how to download music from Spotify with SpotifyMate:

1. Open Safari on your iPhone and go to SpotifyMate.com. There is no need to sign up or install anything.

2. Copy the link to a song, or Spotify playlist and put it into the search bar on SpotifyMate. 

3. Tap on the Download icon or press Go. The link will tell SpotifyMate what to load.

4. Tap on “Download Mp3” to start downloading. If you input a URL to a Spotify playlist, then you can tap on the Download buttons on the songs you want to download. 

5. Be sure to close the redirect ads and confirm to start downloading. Then you can check your downloaded music with the Files app. 

In Settings > Safari > Downloads, you can set your iPhone to save the download Spotify music on iCloud or on iPhone. Overall, SpotifyMate is a quick and easy way to change Spotify songs to MP3 so you can listen to them offline wherever you go.

Spotify Telegram Bot

If you use Telegram, you can download Spotify songs as MP3 files with this chat app on your iPhone or iPad. Compared to other methods, this is kind of slow because when the bot downloads the music, you also need to download it again on your iPhone. 

How to use a Telegram bot to download music from Spotify on iPhone:

Step 1. Open the Telegram app and look for “@Spotify_downloa_bot” to find the bot. 

Step 2. To start the bot, click “Start” or type “/start” and send.

Step 3. Send link to a Spotify song. In the Spotify mobile app, you can find share links.

Step 4. The bot will start getting the MP3 file of the music right away. Once it’s done, it will send you the MP3 file(s) straight through Telegram.

Step 5. Tap on the file to download the MP3 file on your iPhone. Once done, you can tap and hold on it to share the music to your music player app or save it to Files.

Spotube App for iOS

Spotube is an open source Spotify client app for iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux. It gives you access to premium features like no ads, endless skips, high-quality music, and the ability to download songs to listen to later.

In addition, Spotube anonymous/guest login and time-synced Spotify lyrics. However, it will never support Spotify shows and podcasts. To use this app, you should download the ipa file and use a third-party app to install IPA on iPhone

To use this Spotube on iPhone, you should also turn on Developer Mode. Additionally, it loads slow after log in to Spotify. It may be because of my poor internet connection. Feel free to try it yourself and share your thoughts.

Download Spotify Songs on iPhone with Premium

If you have Spotify Premium, you can follow the steps below to save Spotify tracks offline. 

Step 1: Open the Spotify app on your iPhone and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Find the song, album, playlist, or podcast that you want to download. You can use the search function or browse through the categories and recommendations.

Step 3: Tap on the three-dot icon at the top right corner of the screen and select “Download” from the menu. Alternatively, you can toggle on the “Download” switch below the cover art of the content.

Step 4: Wait for the download to complete. You will see a green arrow icon next to the downloaded content, indicating that it is available offline.

To access your downloaded songs on Spotify,  go to “Your Library” and tap on “Downloads” at the top of the screen. You will see all your downloaded songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts in one place.

When there is no WiFi and you don’t want to consume cellular data, you can turn on “Offline Mode” in the settings. This will prevent Spotify from using any internet connection and only playing your downloaded content.
