As you may know, ISO files are typically used for Windows installations, but since they are not native to Mac, you’ll need to use a Mac utility that can handle ISO files if you want to create any sort of Windows USB installer. Even though these are available in Mac, they’re not very reliable, especially when it comes to Windows 10. Here is an in-depth look at UUByte ISO Editor for Mac, the perfect tool to create a Windows 10 bootable USB on Mac without having to follow complicated processes or putting your system at risk.

UUByte ISO Editor Overview

The software is available for both Windows and Mac systems and supports all the latest versions of both. It is a comprehensive ISO toolkit containing key features like creating USB installers, extracting ISO file content, editing ISO files, and copying files and folders to ISO.

The user interface or UI is extremely user-friendly and doesn’t confuse the user with complicated menus and advanced options. However, pro users also find it very handy because they can effectively manage their ISO libraries and keep them up to date with a single tool.

The simplified user experience doesn’t take away from its powerful performance. It is still one of the most accurate tools for creating Windows 10 installer disks and drives, but it makes the process a pleasant one.

Functions and Features

As we saw, UUByte ISO Editor features 5 key capabilities, each of which is designed to serve a particular purpose.

The Burn ISO feature enables users to burn bootable ISO files to USB or a disk in the simplest manner possible. All you need to do is install the application on your Mac, get your ISO file downloaded and ready, insert a USB drive, select the drive and the ISO file in the software interface, and hit the Burn button. In a few minutes, your Windows 10 bootable USB is ready for use.

The ISO Creation module is meant to be used to create ISO files from scratch, whether it’s a bootable or non-bootable file. This ISO compilation process is made easy in this versatile product, and you can be done in no time.

The ISO Extraction function allows you to easily view and pull out anything you need from an ISO file. You can avoid the hassle of mounting it as a virtual drive on Mac to access the contents, which is a bit of a complex process if you’re doing it for the first time.

The ISO Editing capability is second to none. It lets users easily add or remove files from an ISO to create a new and updated disk image, and the drag-and-drop function makes it even simpler for new users.

The last feature, Copying Files and Folders to ISO, lets you archive memory-eating content to a disk or drive so you can quickly clean up your hard drives and avoid system slow-downs and other issues that crop up when your local disks are nearing their full capacity. If you have a lot of media files on your Mac, this is a very useful housekeeping tool.

Pricing

Probably the best part about UUByte ISO Editor is the fact that it is affordably priced. Most ISO editors with this kind of functionality are priced in the hundreds of dollars if you want a solid product. It’s either that or getting locked into a subscription plan that works out as expensive, if not more.

By stark contrast, the full version of UUByte ISO Editor for Mac or Windows only costs $29.95 for a perpetual license. That makes it an ideal tool whether you’re an individual user who occasionally deals with ISO files or an IT professional who works with ISOs on a daily basis.

Conclusion

When you compare the cost of the product with the sheer number of features it offers and the kind of performance you can expect from it, there’s no contest. It is by far one of the best ISO editing tools for Mac. As you know, the Mac environment has a lot fewer useful tools than Windows, which makes the product even more valuable to its customer base.

One of the only drawbacks we noticed was that you’ll need to reload the ISO file to the program each time you switch from one module to another. For instance, if you’re creating an ISO from local files and folders, you’ll need to save it first, then go out of that module, and upload the new ISO file again if you want to edit the contents or extract them. It would have been useful to have something like a buffer or cache that can instantly load ISOs that were recently saved to local memory.

Other than that, we found the product to be very robust, much faster in terms of creating USB installers, and more accurate than many other more expensive tools. At this price, it’s virtually unbeatable as your best resource for handling ISO files any way you want.

  1. Software did not work as promised; tech support went back and forth for weeks after I asked for a refund. They lied to Paypal about services provided and left me out to dry for the wasted time and 30.00. Beware of UUByte and their business practices. Tech support is fake and they will NOT assist you. Total waste of time and money. Hoping this saves others from being taken!
