Since iOS 13, Safari allows you to capture full-page screenshots, which is kind of cool. What if you are in iOS 12 or even an older version? Don’t worry. I get you covered. In this article, I will show you 3 ways to take a long screenshot on every app using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
Capture full webpage screenshot
If you have updated to iOS 13, then you can use Safari to capture scrolling a screenshot easily. If you have not, you can also use an app provided by Apple to take a full webpage screenshot in one take.
Take full-page screenshots with Safari
Step 1. On the Safari web page which you want to screenshot, perform the normal screenshot by pressing the key combination. (Power + Home Button on non-face ID devices like iPhone se and Volume Up + Power on Face ID devices like iPhone 14).
Step 2. Tap the screenshot you just take to have a preview.
Step 3. Tab on the “Full Page” option in the upper section and tap on Done to save it to the Files app.
You can also choose to crop the page for whichever section you want. This full-page screenshot will be saved as PDF, so you cannot save it to Camera Roll. You can use this shortcut to convert PDF to image and in the meantime save it to Photos app, so you can save the long screenshot to Photos app. If you have a problem importing the shortcut, you should allow untrusted shortcuts in Settings.
Full-page screenshot with Siri Shortcuts
Shortcuts, previously known as Workflow, is an automation app that allows you to automate many tasks. If you are using iOS 12, Shortcuts app is your best choice to take a full-page screenshot in one go.
You need to download the Shortcuts app, which is developed by Apple, and get this shortcut Web Scrolling Screenshot also updated for iOS 16 by opening the link in Safari. Basically, this shortcut will save the webpage as a few PDFs, convert PDFs to images, combine these images vertically, and save it to Camera Roll.
You can copy a page URL and run this shortcut directly. If the web page requires login, then you can open the page with Safari and run the shortcut from Safari Share Sheet.
Long screenshots Stitcher shortcut
Since iOS does not have a built-in scrolling screenshot feature, you can manually capture multiple screenshots and combine them together if you don’t want to use third-party apps. Luckily, you don’t have to do it manually thanks to this pre-made shortcut. It even gives the option to remove the status bar from each screenshot automatically. Sounds good? You can refer to the steps below to see how it works.
Step 1. Get this shortcut Long Screenshot Stitcher.
Step 2. Within the Shortcuts app, tap to run the shortcut and select a few screenshots that you want to combine.
Step 3. The shortcut will give you a preview of the combined screenshot. If you are not content with it, you can select the last option to adjust other parameters.
Step 4. As you can see from the screenshot, it allows you to adjust the width, the image order, or auto remove the top status bar.
Step 5. After that, you can choose to Save the image to Photos and delete the original screenshots.

Screenshot Tailer App for iPhone
There is also a dedicated app called Scrolling Tailor that can help you take a long screenshot automatically. It is free to get it on your iPhone or iPad. This will record your full screen and then convert it to a full image.
To my surprise, it is extremely handy to use compared to other screenshot stitcher methods. You can refer to the steps below to see how it works.
Step 1. Free install the app Screenshot Tailer app from App Store. Go to any app or web page that you want to take a screenshot of.
Step 2. Swipe up from the bottom to enable the recording option. From there, select Scrolling Tailor and start the recording.
Step 3. Start scrolling. When you scroll to the bottom, the recording will stop automatically. You can also manually stop the recording in the middle.
Step 4. Now you can go to the Scrolling Tailor app to save the long screenshot to your Camera Roll.
Conclusion
That’s all methods that you can use on iOS to take long screenshots on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch. I prefer using the Shortcuts app. It is effective and allows you to do more custom things.
Between the two apps, I found that Picsew works better because Tailor has failed a few times for fetching all the related screenshots. Now, it is your turn. Which method do you like the most? If I have missed anything, let me know in the comments.
