YouTube Downloader Shortcuts

One of the easiest ways to download YouTube videos on iPhone is to use the Shortcuts app. It is a native iOS app for various custom tasks and automation. There are many YouTube video downloader shortcuts that you can use to download videos from YouTube. 

You can refer to the steps below to use a YouTube downloader shortcut:

Step 2. Open your YouTube app and copy the URL of the video that you want to download. 

Step 3. Open the Shortcuts app and tap on the video downloader shortcut to run it.

Tap on the “URL” action and enter the URL of the YouTube video you want to download in the text field.

If you don’t want to leave the YouTube app, you can also run the shortcut from YouTube Share Sheet. Some YouTube Downloader Shortcuts also have an option to download audio from YouTube. 

Online YouTube Video Downloader

Since iOS 13, the Safari app allows you to download files on iPhone. Therefore, you can use online video download services to download YouTube videos directly to your iPhone. With a quick Google search, you may find many online YouTube downloader websites.

Many people may not know that you can run userscript on iPhone or iPad with a Safari extension.  Local YouTube Downloader is a script that adds a download button to the YouTube website, allowing you to download YouTube videos.

To use this method, you will need to install an extension called Stay or Userscript that allows you to run userscripts on Safari. Here are the steps to use Local YouTube Downloader with Stay on iPhone:

Step 2. Open Stay and tap on the “+” icon to add the Local YouTube Downloader script. 

Step 3. Open Safari again and go to the YouTube video you want to download.

Step 5. Tap on the Stay icon and enable Local YouTube Downloader from the list of scripts.

Step 6. Refresh the page and you will see a download button below the video title.

This script allows you to download 4K/8K videos from YouTube with audio. There are other browser apps like Via browser, for iOS support scripts, but they may not function as well as Safari.

Sometimes, you may only need a short clip from a YouTube video. In that case, you can use Clipbox app from AppStore. Clipbox is a free app that allows you to download clips from various social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

To download a video clip from YouTube:

Step 2. The app will automatically retrieve the video. 

Step 3. Specify the starting point and end point. 

Step 4. Tap on the Download button to save the YouTube clip on your iOS device. 

If you need to use the clip in another app, you can tap the Share button or Copy Link. 

YouTube Premium

The simplest and official method for downloading YouTube videos on iPhone is to use a YouTube Premium subscription. This is a paid service that offers various benefits for YouTube users, such as ad-free videos, background playback, offline access, etc.

With a YouTube Premium subscription, you can download YouTube videos for offline viewing on your iPhone or any other device. Once you have YouTube Premium, you can use the YouTube app to download videos from YouTube. Simply tap on the Download button and select quality to save the video for offline viewing. 

Keep in mind that the offline video may only be available for 48 hours based on the country you are in.
