The Print Method
The built-in Print feature on your iPhone or iPad allows you to save images and other documents as PDF files. You can convert images from your Photos Library or any other app. Here is how:
Step 1. Open the photo that you want to convert and tap the Share button.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap on Print.
Step 3. Pinch out the preview image to open it in full screen.
Step 4. Tap on the Share icon again at the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select “Save to Files” or share the PDF file, such as Mail, Messages, Files, or other apps.
This method is quick and simple and does not require any additional apps or tools. However, it only works for one picture at a time. If you want to convert multiple pictures to a PDF file, you will have to repeat the process for each picture.
Picture to PDF Shortcut on iPhone
The Shortcuts app comes pre-installed on iPhones and lets you automate tasks through simple workflows. You can easily create a shortcut for converting images to PDF. To make it more convenient, you should also enable it for use in the Share Sheet.
To save you time, I have made an Image to PDF shortcut. You can simply get it, and it will be available in your share sheet for converting one or more images to PDF in one go. If you want to create the shortcut yourself, you can follow the steps below.
Step 1. Open the Shortcuts app. Tap the “+” icon to create a new shortcut.
Step 2. Tap the “i” icon and toggle on the option “Show in Share Sheet”.
Step 3. Then you will notice the Receive input action. Change it to “Receive Images input from Share Sheet. If there’s no input: Ask For photos”.
Step 4. Search for “Create PDF”. Tap to add it to your shortcut.
Step 5. Add a “Save File” action to save the converted PDF file.
You can also change the PDF parameters and add it to your Home Screen or Siri for quick access. You can also customize the shortcut with additional actions like filename, storage location, image resize, etc.
So Shortcuts provides a fast, automated way to batch-convert JPEGs to organized PDF files on your iPhone.
