How to Turn off Shuffle on Spotify for Free – Mobile or Desktop

As you may know, only Spotify Premium users can turn off Shuffle mode on Spotify Mobile. When you have perfectly sorted your Spotify playlist, you may not want to play songs on Spotify without shuffle. Therefore, in this post, I will show you how to turn off Shuffle on Spotify for free on Android or iOS. 

Free Users Can Turn off Shuffle on the Desktop App or Online Player

When using the desktop software or online player, you may turn off shuffle by clicking the Shuffle button (it looks like two interwoven arrows) at the bottom playing bar until it becomes grey.

However, for Spotify app for mobile, only Spotify Premium subscribers may toggle shuffle on and off. Neither can you pick and select songs at will or cycle through your playlists as you prefer. In addition, you’ll hear commercials among tracks. Keep reading to learn how to play Spotify music without shuffle on Android or iOS. 

Turn Off Shuffle Mode on Android for Free

The problem is that you can’t do unlimited skips and on-demand listening on your phone if you use a free account.

Well, you could do that with Spotify Lite a long time ago, until Spotify blocked it by updating the app.

A long time ago, users can use Spotify Lite to do unlimited skips and on-demand listening on your Android phone. Apparently, Spotify has removed this app. Luckily, you can still download it through Wayback Machine. It is very nice to have an official Spotify app to play Spotify tracks in order and unlimited skips.

As a Lite version, Spotify Lite is only 40MB and it can work along with Spotify. Within the app, you can select any song to play and turn off Spotify Shuffle. While playing, you can skip unlimited songs without hearing commercials among tracks. 

All the playlists, Spotify Daily Mix, and Discover Weekly are the same as the current Spotify app. You can also access Spotify podcasts and have the option to download podcasts. To my surprise, you can also use the Sleep Timer option to fall sleep with Spotify music. The only thing that I wish this to have is Spotify Lyrics. 

Change Country in Spotify

Spotify launched in India in February 2019. Spotify for India does not provide the Shuffle option for free users. Therefore, if you don’t want Spotify Shuffle option, you can simply change your account region to India. Whether you use iPhone or Android devices, you can click any song to play without shuffle using this method. 

You can change the current location in Spotify settings. If you are not in India, you may use a VPN or other Spoof GPS Location app to work this around. You may refer to the following steps to change Spotify country /region.  

Step 1. Login to your Spotify account and navigate to the account page on your web browser.

Step 2. Click “Edit Profile”. 

Step 3. Under “Contry or Region”, you may choose India as your new location. 

Generally, you have to physically be in the nation or area in order to do so. You won’t be able to access Spotify or change your location if you’re currently located in a country where it isn’t accessible. 

Spotify Mod App – Not Recommended

You can download Spotify Mod APK and install it on your smartphone for Android users. Most Spotify Mode apps, if not all, allow you to turn off Spotify Shuffle for free. You can also choose any track to play and save tracks for offline listening. 

For iOS users, you can download the Spotify ++ app ipa file and then install the ipa on your iPhone or iPad. You are at your own risk while downloading any apps outside of AppStore, especially mod apps. Be sure to download it from a trusted source.

These are all the possible methods for turning off Spotify shuffle without getting Spotify Premium. Among them, I think Spotify Lite works the best. It might not possible for most people to change Spotify county to India. Spotify ++ app for iOS will only work for a limited time and you need to reinstall it after that.
