Remove Video Watermark with CapCut
CapCut is a complete free video editor tool for Android and iOS developed by ByteDance. If you don’t know ByteDance, the famous video-sharing focused social networking service, TikTok, owned by ByteDance.
I really love this app because it is really powerful. Previously, I have written a post about removing video background with CapCut. You can also use it to remove watermark from any video. For detailed steps, you can refer to the video.
CapCut does not specifically provide a feature to remove watermark, but there are 3 approaches that you can try.
To remove TikTok kind of of watermark, you can take two screenshots, one when the logo watermark is at the top left, and the other at the bottom right. Then overlay the screenshot on the video and add a mask to block the logo. This is quite perfect if the background is not moving.
To remove regular video watermark, you can overlay the same video to the watermarked video. Add the Blur Effect to the overlay video. Then add a mask to block the watermark. You may adjust the Blur percentage to achieve better results. If you take a close look, you can see the editing trace, but it is good enough for me.
Of course, you can simply add a Blur Effect on the watermark, which is the easiest approache. However, the result is not as good as the others. By the way, you can also use Capcut Editor online without downloading.
Smart Text Removal Powered by AI
GhostCut is an online new AI video editing tool. It offers a Smart text Removal feature to detect text in the video and erase it automatically. You can also use it to remove moving text, which will take more time. You need to register an account to use this AI tool.
If you want to remove logo watermark or stickers, you can choose the Video Inpainting feature. Then, you can manually mark the items to remove them. You can remove things including text, icon, logo, watermark, logo, sticker, and animation.
Crop Method to Remove a Watermark on iPhone
Generally, we see watermarks on the corner of the video frame, so we can simply crop the frame around the watermark. This way, we can completely remove the watermark. However, you may also lose some content in the video. For iOS users, you can simply use the stock app iMovie on your iPhone or iPad.
Here are the steps to remove a watermark from a video using iMovie:
- Open the iMovie app on your iPhone and tap on the “Projects” tab.
- Select the video that you want to edit and tap on the “Create Movie” button.
- In the editing interface, tap on the video clip that contains the watermark.
- Tap on the “Crop and Rotate” button, and then use your finger to adjust the crop frame around the watermark.
- Tap on the “Done” button when you are finished cropping the video.
- Tap on the “Done” button again to save the changes to your video.
In Conclusion
With these 5 tools, you can remove a watermark from a video effectively. Whether you choose to use video editing software, a mobile app, or an online watermark remover, the process is relatively straightforward.
However, remember to always respect copyright laws and to use the edited video only for the purpose you have the rights.
