Instagram Downloader Shortcut
Many people take screenshots to save photos from Instagram, but that’s not ideal. I have made a shortcut to download videos and images from both private and public Instagram accounts.
Due to the recent Instagram update, you cannot view many Instagram posts without an account. This shortcut use cookies to download access Instagram API. If it fails to work, you can ask me to update cookies.
If you need to download multiple Instagram posts from any user, you can aslo try my Ins Multi Posts Downloader shortcut.
Step 1. Tap the share icon of a post, select ‘Share to’ then select the Ins Ripper shortcut from Share Sheet.
Step 2. When it ask your permission, tap allow.
Step 3. When it is done, it will save the media onto your photo album. It aslo offers you an option to view all downloaded content.
If you want to download private videos or images from Instagram, just run it from Safari share sheet. Needless to say, you need to log in to Instagram with Safari.
Tip: Refreh the page before downloading another post from Safari to clear cache.
If you prefer Safari, you should check the next shortcut, which works perfectly for downloading private Instagram videos.
An Ins Downloader for Shortcut for Private Content
Previously, I used Tampermonkey scripts to download Instagram videos and images, which is very convenient. Therefore, I copied the Instagram Download script and made a shortcut for iPhone and iPad. I called it An Ins Downloader.
This shortcut will add a download button next to each Instagram post that you see on Instagram. You can simply click on the download button to download the media whether it is from a public account or private account.
As stated it is only for Safari, so you should log in to Instagram with Safari and run this shortcut. You may receive an error while running the shortcut, but no worries. You just close it and go back to Safari. Viola, you will see the Download button below every Instagram photo or video.
Instagram Story Viewer and Downloader Shortcut
This shortcut allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously and save them to your iPhone Photo Library or Files app. You may copy or share an Instagram profile URL to run this Ins Story Viewer shortcut.
It will display all the available stories for a quick preview and you can tap the Share button to save each one. I have also added a Save All option to download and save all available stories to your Recent album.
If there is no input, the shortcut will ask you to input an Instagram username to continue. This way, it will also show the same results. You can refer to the video below to see how it works.
Meme Generator
On Instagram, you may see lots of interesting memes. If you also want to create memes for Instagram, here is a shortcut to help you. It allows you to add text over an image of your choosing or use a template to make a meme.
Whether you’re using Photos (Picture Library) or Files, you may make a meme by tapping the shortcut and selecting an image to edit. Put in your message, which can contain emojis, and click “OK.”
You may send it to a friend by text message, email, or store it to your phone or iCloud. In this scenario, posting to Instagram is as simple as tapping a button.
Copy Instagram Hashtags
You may use this Instagram Hashtags shortcut to copy hashtags from Instagram. You can run the shortcut through the Shortcuts app, the Share Sheet, the Widget, or even by asking Siri to execute a shortcut.
Once you have the shortcut, you copy the post’s URL and then run the shortcut. Alternatively, you can run it from the Instagram app share sheet. You’ll receive a notification in a few seconds, and then you may copy the hashtags to your clipboard.
What I really like about Shortcuts is that you can make customization for your preference. For example, you can use the copied hashtags and post to Instagram automatically.
Create a Collage from Multiple Photos
This Combine Images shortcut allows you to merge multiple photos vertically, horizontally, or in a grid. You can set the space between each image. Once done, it will give you a preview of the result. If you like it, you can select the option to save to Photos and delete the original images.
Get an HD Profile Picture
This standalone shortcut allows you to download or View Instagram profile pictures for any user via a profile Link or Username. It does not require additional apps or an out-source API. If needed, you can change the language between English and Arabic.
Squarify – Post Full-Size Photos to Instagram
This shortcut, Squarify, will make any input image square without cropping and upload to Instagram automatically. You can set the background color to black, or white, or select a color using HEX codes. It uses PDF Conversion which results in HD Photos (Lossless Quality).
Change Image Background
If you don’t like the background of the photo you took, you can simply run this shortcut, Image Background Remover iOS 17, to change it. You can select any image in your Photo Library as the new background.
Snapcut – Add Text and Stickers
Snapcut is a shortcut for adding text and stickers to your photos to post on Instagram. Within the shortcut, you can use options to flip the image, blur or gradient background, choose aspect ratio, etc. You can import images from any app using Share Sheet to start using this shortcut.
Conclusion
The above shortcuts are all tested working in 2024, especially the Instagram Downloader shortcuts are tested in iOS 17 and iOS 18. Thanks to the Shortcuts app, you can fully automate your iOS devices. These 10 shortcuts are just a few examples of how you can use shortcuts for Instagram. Hopefully, you will find them useful.
