Lots of good things are free. In this post, I will share with you 3 different methods to download music on iPhone or iPad without a PC for free. It is not necessary to download a thirty-party app for this purpose because I will show you how to download free music with stock apps on iPhone.
Download music with Siri Shortcuts
If your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 13 or newer versions, you can use the built-in app, Shortcuts, to download music on your iPhone for free. In case you don’t know, Shortcuts is an application for automation in iOS provided by Apple. Don’t be intimidated by the learning curve, because there are many useful custom shortcuts for you to grab for free.
Previously, I have shared 8 shortcuts for downloading music. You can use them to download music from YouTube, MixCloud, SoundCloud, Spotify, etc. You just need to copy the track link and run the corresponding shortcut.
Step 1. Get this shortcut by opening the shortcut link in Safari. According to Apple, all the shared shortcuts outside of the Shortcuts Gallery are considered “Untrusted Shortcuts”, so feel free to allow untrusted shortcuts.
Step 2. Once you get the Music Downloader shortcut to your Shortcuts library, copy the track URL and run the shortcut. You can also run it from the app Share Sheet.
Step 3. Once the process completes, it will prompt you to save the mp3 on your iPhone. Then you can save it to your music player app like VLC to play the downloaded songs. You can also save them to your iCloud folder.
However, you cannot save the downloaded music to the Stock Music app without iTunes. If you really want to get the downloaded MP3 to the Music app, there are many ways to transfer music to iPhone.
Download music online on iPhone
You probably know that you can download music online on your computer, and so can you on your iPhone. Since iOS 13, Safari has a downloader manager implemented, so you can use Safari to download music online. If you don’t like using Safari, you can use other downloader manager apps like Documents by Readdle to download files on iPhone.
A Google search can help you find many websites for downloading music online. In case you don’t know, you can read this post about a few websites that I recommend for free music. Similarly, you can add the downloaded music to a third-party music player for offline music listening on iPhone.

Download Songs Free on iPhone with Telegram Bots
If you use Telegram, you probably have used one or two Telegram bots. You can also use Telegram to download music on iPhone for free. There are a few Telegram Bots for downloading music. I like the @deezload2bot the most, which allows you to download music from Deezer.
It does not require any setup or your Deezer account login info. You can search for “deezload2bot” on Telegram to start a dialogue with this bot. After that, you can type “/start” (without quotes), and then you can paste any Deezer track link or search for a track to start downloading music for free.
When the download is complete, you should tap the Share button and save to Files or your Music player app. One thing worth mentioning is that you can use Music Hunter to download free lossless music on iPhone, which is encoded with 16-Bit/44.1 kHz FLAC.
If you choose to download music to FLAC, your iPhone can play FLAC music, but the stock Music app cannot. You can convert FLAC to ALAC before transferring to the Music app.
