7 Ways to Download SoundCloud Music for Free

Previously, I have written about downloading music from Spotify and Deezer. In this article, I will show you how to download SoundCloud music for free without a paid subscription. Here are 7 different methods. Whether you are using iOS, Windows, Android, macOS, or Linux, you can find more than one method that is working perfectly for you.

Method 1: Download SoundCloud Tracks on Apple Devices

If you have read my other article or checked my YouTube Channel, you should know that I love using Siri Shortcuts, so the first method would be using Shortcuts to download music from SoundCloud.

To begin with, you can get the SoundCloud Downloader by clicking the button below. If you have never used any shortcut, you can follow this guide to allow untrusted shortcuts. Once you get the shortcut, you can follow the steps below to download music from SoundCloud.

Step 1. Open Safari and load the page of the SoundCloud track that you want to download.

Step 2. Tap the Safari Share button, not the share button on the web page.

Step 3. Select the SoundCloud Downloader shortcut from share sheet.

Step 4. Now, you can open the Files app to find the Downloaded music file. By default, you can locate the files in “iCloud/Shortcuts/”.

If you want to change where to save the Downloaded files on iPhone or Mac, you can open the shortcut in Edit mode and change the Save Content of URL action.

Method 2: Download SoundCloud Music online

You can probably find many online SoundCloud music downloader tools out there, but I find this one to be the best. You can download as OPUS 64kbps or MP3 128kbps. I have used this tool for a while, no ads found.

Method 3: Download Tracks, Albums, or Playlists from Computer

For a better downloading experience, you can use a dedicated downloader application, ByClick Downloader. It allows you to download music from SoundCloud, YouTube, TikTok, VK, etc. After you install this software, just paste the song link, album link, or playlist link into the software and press Enter to start downloading.

Besides music, you can also use ByClick Downloader to download photos and videos. In settings, you can allow access to Chrome browser, so you can download private videos easily. Oftentimes, I use it to download all Instagram photos from one user at once.

Method 4: Download SoundCloud Music with Telegram Bot

If you use Telegram, you can simply get this SoundCloud bot to search and download SoundCloud Music on Android or iOS. You can type “/search [keywords]” (without quotes) to search for the song to download.

As you can see, there are many other parameters to use. You can also connect your own SoundCloud account to download your own playlists more conveniently. If you like this Telegram method, you probably are interested in more Telegram bots for downloading music.

Method 5: Download SoundCloud Music with Allavsoft

Allavsoft is another program that can be used to do download media from many websites including SoundCloud of course.

Method 6: Download Songs from Soundcloud with Command Prompt

There is another open source program yt-dlp (since YouTube-dl is discontinued) that can be used to download music from Soundcloud. You can download it from the official site website or Github. It is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. If you want to use yt-dlp on iPhone or Android device, you need to download the Termux app on Android and A-Shell for iOS.

For Windows, you can copy the downloaded exe file to the user folder. Once that’s done, you can launch the command prompt and type “youtube-dl.exe [Soundcloud song link, album link, or playlist link]” (without quotes). Then the music will be downloaded to the user folder. Of course, you can change the default location to save the music downloaded.

Method 7: MediaHuman

MediaHuman YouTube to MP3 Converter is another Soundcloud music downloader available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. as its name suggests, it supports YouTube music download along with Soundcloud and other videos sites. You need just input the URLs of SoundCloud tracks, albums and playlists and the program will save them as MP3 files to your local storage with one click. Moreover, you can use the Tracking feature to automatically download playlist updates.

The downloaded music files have the artwork and other metadata. Besides MP3, you can choose to save to  OGG or M4A with your chosen bitrate quality. Other features are also helpful like adding music to iTunes, speed limit mode, complete action, etc.
